Generation Dichotomies is a wood piece inspired by my experience growing up in a multi-generational, Korean home.
The symmetrical line pattern present in my piece is typically found in traditional Korean homes that were built in the 14th century, during the Joseon dynasty. I utilize the long heritage of this line pattern, in contrast with a wooden crack, to symbolize a break away from what it meant for me to be a "good asian".
